Call it a terrible schedule. But the team, led by reigning Coach of the Year Reggie Geary, a former NBA guard and NBA Development League head coach, maximized its effort and played at a respectable level over the first 10 games, going 6-4, including 5-3 on the road.
As I write this, the team is battling the East-leading Iwate Big Bulls in a rare early season home game in Yokohama.
The schedule will shift back to the B-Corsairs' favor as the season progresses, what with more games in Kanagawa Prefecture. And that'll give the team a chance to climb in the standings while spending less time on long road trips. Wherever they play, of course, the B-Corsairs will need to be smart -- and effective -- at both ends of the floor.
