I received the following insight via email from Gary Nakase, Saitama Broncos coach Natalie Nakase's father, the other day:
"Natalie was competitive at an early age, playing basketball with her two older siblings, wanting to win or be first. She became more intense and competitive after her redshirt freshman season at UCLA. ... She now has the interest and desire to learn. A women her size has to be intense, competitive and driven to want to coach at this level with the goal to reach the NBA (in a coaching capacity). I think she will make it."
